Brief introduction …

Active as VHF DXer from 1988 to 1991 and Member of the VHF DX-Group DL-West.

In September 2025, after 34 Years my heart is beating again for amateur radio activity.

Will start with small equipment:

• Handheld USDX USDR HF QRP SDR Transceiver, 5W, DSP SDR

• portable QRP shortwave antenna, 20W 3.5 – 30 MHz.

I’m looking forward to my first FT8 QRP QSOs on the shortwave bands. I’ve covered the 2m band for years and will try shortwave bands now. The 6m band still interest me also because of its interesting propagation conditions.

I don’t have as much time as in the early 90s to celebrate this hobby, because I’ve some others. For example my Harley Davidson Sportster 883 Hugger from 1999:

and my 180 liter South America aquarium and my Second Life activities (content creator since 2007) and my AI-Art Projects (as you can see with my qsl card above) …

For me, it’s not a case of “retirees have a lot of time on their hands.” I’m 65 now and more active than ever. But I love it, it’s my life.
